What can I do?

Well. We're not giving up hope, because without hope we are hopeless, but we we aren't suggesting you donate any more cash (you'll be amazed to hear), as we don't know where it would go, and wouldn't want to reccommend anything we wouldn't do ourselves. But we were told before the gig that if the festival didn't work out, that any cash donated would go to the businesses who have been supporting ACF through thick and thin - who are mostly local and mostly small, so let's hope that that occurs.

1. Put up a poster

Download a poster from the free stuff page, print it out and put it up in your office, bar, club, pub, front window, garden shed - wherever you think it will help to spread the word. Oh, and, tell all your mates.

2. Buy a CD

Buy the two special compilation CDs from record stores or from the festival office
(They are really good, well worth it, not just saying it, honest...)
Address on the contact page

3. Go to a benefit gig

There are some great benefit gigs going on around Bristol and venues and bands are listing more every day. See the 'Gigs listings' panel on the right hand side of this site for a list of genuine benefit gigs and remember to check that it is a genuine benefit gig - there have been rogues in the past who didn't hand the cash over to the festival after a succesful night.

You can also see all the gigs on The WLACF group on upcoming.org

4. Do a benefit gig

Run your own benefit event, or join forces with others. There is support available for people who want to do this, so please send an email to acfbenefitappeal@yahoo.co.uk. Benefit gigs can download support materials from this site, and we will list you in our gigs listing.

5. Drink beer

Bath Ales are donating 10p of every pint of Wild Hare organic ale they sell. Now we're talking!

Participating pubs in Bristol: The Wellington, Hare on the Hill, Merchants Arms, Bridge Inn, Eldon House. In Bath: The Salamander, Hop Pole.

Pub details on the Bath Ales website

6. Buy your very own pixel

Check this out: Buy a pixel of cyberspace at Every little helps

7. Shake a fundraising bucket at a gig

Go on, do it. Please send an email to acfbenefitappeal@yahoo.co.uk.

8. Get busy in Myspace

We have a little toehold in Myspace. We're not trying to build a community in Myspace (we just want to raise cash for the festival), but add us as a friend so we can keep you informed of what is happening, then tell your mates.

9. Share your photos with us on flickr

We have set up a flickr photo-sharing group. You can join this, add your photos, and they will appear in the sidebar of this site, as well as in flickr.

10. Join the facebook group

A facebook group has sprung up to support the movement - well done all! You are welcome to join us by following this link. (If you aren't a member of facebook already, we recommend it).

Oh yes, and not forgetting this old chestnut: you can always sit on your bum doing nothing and then moan when it isn't here anymore.
